3 kids, a dog, a hubby, writing, running, cooking… Life in Small town USA!

Originally this post was to be 4’s pictures from baseball–the power went out and I’m using the laptop instead where of course I can’t get at the pictures to post.  :-)  So I decided to update things.  I had a garage sale this weekend and a friend asked why I didn’t have a more ‘interesting’ title for my blog.

My response?  “Ummm, because using the name helps generate name recognition.  They say that a person needs to ’see’ a name 12 times before remembering it.  And since someday I plan on being published…it might help to actually make some money if people know my name.”

Oh yeah, she understood that.  Not.  It was still boring to her.  lol  And truth be told, I agreed.  Well, I’m not changing my title officially–not because of name recognition or anything but because it truly is a hassle to alter things like that–but I did alter my intro to my blog.  Besides, the title does still work…it’s still about me.  :-)  It’s just that I’m loving the fact this blog encompasses more than just the side of me that is an aspiring author!
Here is my more fitting intro:

I thought I’d grow up to be a (single) career woman doing something in the wilds of places like Alaska.  I like the middle of nowhere. :-)  Oh and making oodles of cash of course.  Too funny–how often do those ‘ideas’ actually pan out?  LOL

So here I am, all grown up(maybe) :-) , a stay at home mom of three boys with a dog, a husband, neighbors and a mini-van trying to blend a bit of country life with small town city life. It’s camping, gardening, cooking from scratch, fishing, with baseball games, water parks to tv dinners.  :-)  Add to that a love for running, photos, hunting, knitting, writing and reading–its a hectic life!  But one I wouldn’t change for the world.

Well, okay, I  wouldn’t mind if the hubby would let me add a chicken or two to the backyard.  Oh and don’t forget a couple of sheep–I could spin my own wool then for when I knit!  Oh yeah, now that would be cool.  :-)  What’s that you say?  There are ordinance’s against having live stock within city limits?  Hmmm, maybe a privacy wall would work…

So, Welcome to my small town, yet not so very small town living blog world!

Cole - I love it! LOL on the “single career-woman” plans.

I assumed I would have kids, but I was also intrigued by couples without kids so I guess that part of me won out. :)

Thanks Kathy! Life is a bit ironic the way it plays out, isn’t it?
