I have decided…

When (I’m assuming here obviously that this is going to happen at some point in my future ;-) )  But WHEN I finally do get published I have decided the first thing I’m going to purchase is a laptop.

I want to be able to move anywhere so I can I don’t miss out of sights like this ~~

sun between storms

Yeah, I can do that with paper–I do–and yeah, sometimes the slower pace which is then forced can be great for figuring out little road blocks, but overall it would be so nice not to be stuck down in a basement if I really want to spend my free time writing.  There are advantages to having my ‘office’ in the basement, like, in the summer when its boiling outside the basement feels like heaven or it can even be a quiet escape spot, but overall…I’d just really like the mobility I’d get from being able to have a laptop.  I envision typing away as I sit in front of the fireplace on cold wintery days or when I am lounging beneath the backyard pine tree watching the kids play.

Oh yeah, I’m soooo making this my first purchase.  :-)

EXERCISE: I’ve made my goal for each day and recorded it on my xLog page–YAY!!!

I have an Alphasmart, which I love. It’s so durable. I’ve dropped it down a flight of stairs and it hasn’t hurt it a bit, yes, I’m that clumsy! I bought mine on Ebay.

What I should do is start keeping a log of what people recommend so I have some types and ‘things’ to look for when I do go shopping for a laptop. I was looking at some the other day(suckered in by the advertisement) and the one thing that really struck me was all this ’stuff’ you get with the product. I just really want one that I can write on, maybe check my mail and surf the net for research tidbits on the fly (do that a lot). I do love being able to research something real quick and then get back to writing.

Oh and I do have kids…so durable would be a plus. :-)

Have a good one, Nancy and I’m glad to hear your feeling better!
