Bandwidth

Well, I’m trying a few things out here over the next few days. Since I decided to start adding photos to my blog on a regular basis my bandwidth has gone through the roof. Partly because I copy and paste the posts from this site to Harlequin and Myspace.

Myspace doesn’t pull much because ‘most’ of the photos won’t publish unless I do a bunch of monkeying around–done it a few times and decided it was sooooo not worth the time and work.

But Harlequin–I get a LOT of hits and though the range of amount of comments varies, I’m obviously getting viewed a lot. I considered (before I realized this) not copying and pasting. But I get a ton more traffic over there then here. So no, I don’t want to stop posting over there. Besides I love the Harlequin community, everyone is so generous and welcoming…I really didn’t want to stop posting over there.

Of course I still had an issue with bandwidth. I’m not published and thus can not justify spending even more for my website. I tried their upload function but it is for only one photo. This will work great for when I do book reviews but to do more than 1 photo I had to have addies for the photos.

I think after looking into things I’m going to give Picasa a try. It will allow me to upload directly into blogger(the other place I copy and paste my posts to) and though I have not tried it yet–hopefully will be creating http addy’s that I can then use at Harlequin and Myspace. We’ll see.

So for now until I get the bandwidth usage under control I’ve changed the gallery slideshow on the sidebar to random photos and have altered my smilies which move. Amazing how much bandwidth they use!!! Never would have guessed. It means a few breaks throughout my old posts but I’ll just have to live with that. Learning as I go.
