Makes a difference
One of the things I love to fix for myself when I have time is an omelet. It simply satisfies me. This weekend I was making one and asked as I always do if the hubby wanted one–no he did not. But then of course about the time mine was done and the smells were wafting throughout the house he decides–yeah, maybe he does. Now usually I say okay and make him one. This day I was hungry and was eating late and decided I was going to be stubborn. He could make his own. I mean it wasn’t like I hadn’t offered.
So he did and I sat down to eat. But it was one thing after another between him and the kids and I really didn’t get more than a couple mouthfuls before he was sitting down to eat too. Now I actually have a point here besides sharing mundane stuff. Within one bit of his omelet we knew something was wrong — it wasn’t fully cooked despite the outside looking dark brown.
*sigh* I’ve learned(the hard way as he just did) that you have to cook those eggs thoroughly before putting on the yummies.
I usually put a cover on it while I cut everything up to help it cook more evenly. Yes, it would have been easier in the end for me to have simply made him the omelet.
Here’s what it looks like all done.
I alter the ‘yummies’ depending on my moods while trying to watch the quantities. Many times I can get overzealous in my options. Today’s was 2 beaten eggs with water, green olives, spinach, tomatoes, onion, chopped ham, sprinkled shredded cheese and a lullop of salsa on the side. Yummy!
