Did good

How do you like that - two titles in one day that are complete opposite. I still haven’t weighed in… will wait until I get my writing done which I’m going to go and do in just a moment. First though I wanted to share how excited I was about my jogging. My plan calls for a ‘long’ run, something like 10 to 12 K. 1 mile is just over .6 K. So I thought, aim for 6 miles. Maybe? I really had no idea if I could make it that long. Was really nervous.

So in the end since my family came up too(rubbing off on them, YAY!!) and cause I can only be on the treadmills for so long, I decided to just go for 30 minutes and see what I could do. Test the waters so to speak.

I picked the first program on the machine - baby run(how appropriate), which means it has some ‘hills’, speed at 4.7(no idea what that means), 30 minutes. Well according to the machine I went about 2.25 miles in 30 minutes. How awesome! Yet, how pathetic if you knew what I used to run 2 miles in years ago! LOL, BUT two weeks ago I couldn’t, seriously could not have walked two miles. Yesterday I jogged the entire two miles!!! Oh yeah, I’m dancing! I then walked the track for another mile and then played with the hubby some… hmmm can’t think what you call it at the moment, you hit the ball in the white room with rackets… lots of fun! But boy was I whipped! =)

I’m soooo pumped! I mean I’m not on schedule with the ‘plan’ I have but that being said it doesn’t start for another month, so that means I can use this time to get up to speed on the distance. Next Sunday I plan on going the whole 6 miles whether I’m running or walking. Its the distance I want to make next week. Well, kind of, now that I know I can jog at least two miles…I do better if I don’t stop. Starting, stopping, restarting… its murder on me! So I’m going to work out some kind of pattern since I can only be on the tread mill for so long. Maybe 30 minutes on(gives me about 2 miles), walk the track for a mile or something and then hop back on the treadmill if one is open. We’ll see. The long run/walk will be so much easier once its nice enough out that I can do it outside. I’ll map out a run with the car so I know where to go and then its just a matter of, if you want to get home, you have to keep going! LOVE THAT! =) LOL,

Oh and I almost forgot! I found a marathon! Its in Des Moines, about 3 hours from us. My hubby thinks there is absolutely no way I could do it…but we’ll see. =) I told him he’d be eating his words and cheering me across the line in October. I’m going to register this week so that I make sure I get out on Sunday’s to get that distance in. I want to make him eat those words! Okay I need to get to writing! Have a good one everyone!
