The Pregnancy Ultimatimum by Kate Hardy

Which book to choose??? I finally chose Kate Hardy’s book as it’s a single and I got it free over the holidays from Harlequin. This is kind of neat because today is a holiday and Harlequin is once again giving away a free ebook!

Did you catch that? Harlequin is giving away a free ebook today and today only! Zip on over there and check it out! Besides that, there are 25% discounts, bundles… well you get the idea.

Beware though, if you are like me, I have a hard time just getting the free book and getting out of dodge! I can’t! Five more books later….

BLURB:

When wealthy garden designer Will Daynes and uptight city girl Amanda Neave agree to swap lives for a TV show, they soon discover they’re chalk and cheese. Certainly neither expects the intense attraction that sparks between them, and Amanda just can’t resist the temptations of the ruggedly handsome renowned bachelor.

But will this hot affair between polar opposites still sizzle when Amanda realizes she’s having Will’s baby?

REVIEW:

First book by Kate Hardy for me—absolutely loved it! Its not glamorous focused as most Presents are, seeing more of a trend for this and like it both ways. Its the raw emotional appeal that I’m in there for and its there! I highly recommend this book!

This was a free ebook over the holidays that I picked up and I have to say, Harlequin’s idea for promotion works for me. Yes, I got this book free but I enjoyed her voice and now will buy her books, look for them by her name. Not to mention the other issue I have–not being able to just grab their free offers and leave… I always end up leaving with some that I buy.

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read further unless you don’t mind knowing something about the ending of this story.

Now that I’ve said all the above… the title and the blurb on the back cover of this book bite a big one in my opinion. I really dislike it when the title and or the blurb have absolutely nothing to do with the entire book but rather the last couple of pages! I read this book on my pda — big suggestion here to those doing ebook stuff–give the back cover blurb with the ebooks — for the longest time(over halfway through the book) I truly thought that somehow the title and the content of what I was reading did not coincide. That somehow there had been a glich when I was downloading things and the title belonged to a different book. Seriously!

Finally it had bugged me enough that I went online and looked up the book. It was the correct title. But now that I’d read the blurb, I KNEW the ending of the dang book! So I was happy I had my question answered but not happy I knew the ending. And I do mean the ending.

I realize that the titles and the back blurbs are usually not the doings of the author and since I truly loved Kate’s voice, I am going to read more of hers(already bought another ebook of hers since I finished this book) but to be honest, I am almost glad I didn’t read the blurb before I was halfway through the book. I was able to read with an open mind. If I’d gone into this book more ‘knowledgeable’ I would have probably have hated it. As I’ve had happen before with other books that make this mistake. It sets a certain expectation of what you are going to read. The story is not about pregnancy… or ultimatums about pregnancies. Its an awesome story, just not about those things.

Okay, enough ranting. Its a great story and I do recommend it!

Oh I want to add one more side note as this is an ebook–I read it in mobi(love that program) on my pda. I like it the most when books resemble their paperback counterparts including having the back blur/covers. Harlequin usually is really good about most of this, the covers look the same, title pages ect… It makes a difference in the overall experience. It feels right, like you are really reading a book rather then a computer document.

Have a great valentines day!

Cole
