Loves me?

Good morning Everyone!

As most of you who stop by here regularly know, we got ourselves a new puppy at the end of November(yes, definitely crazy time of the year to get one what with the snow and all but the kids asked for it for Christmas and what with the way Cody had died… ‘nough said? ) But what I get a kick out of is the comment I always get when it comes to animals–”They just love you! They follow you everywhere…“. There are more but you get the gist. This morning(remember I get up way before everyone else) I found myself pondering this and thought with a shake to my head - “They don’t love me anymore then anyone else–I just happen to be the one who is with them twenty-four seven, feeds them, carries around a pocketful of goodies so that I can train them to come, sit, go to the bathroom in the right place… the list goes on.

In otherwords they’re not dumb pets. They know who is their protector when they do something wrong and the head pack leader(my hubby) is ready to cook their cute little bottoms. They know that sooner or later I’m going to give them one of those yummy, only accessible goodies from my pocket that everyone else refuses to carry around because they don’t want to stink like raw meat. They know! And as such, they follow me around. Which between you and me… is exactly what I want them to do — its a heck of lot easier to train them if the cute little hair ball is at your beck and call. ‘Course this means that times like this morning when I needed to go to the bathroom… they think they need to follow me in there to lie at my feet while I use the facilities.

Oh you’re one of THOSE people! My husband is like that. Animals like him more than other people. I call him the “cat whisperer.” LOL.

We have 2 cats - one that lives to be near DH and the other that thinks I’m her mama. You’re right - he/she who does the most for them gets the most affection. Too bad not everything is affection/care in=affection given. Life would be simpler if it were that way!

LOL Julie - the ‘cat whisperer’ — I WISH I could truly take credit for being a ‘whisperer’ but I don’t think its me so much as the treats and constant presence that are doing it.
